About the role
The Arts & Education Manager will support the British Council’s UK‑Ireland cultural relations work by delivering impactful arts and education projects and events. Based in Dublin, the role works across the UK, Ireland and the wider EU network, contributing to the PEACEPLUS CONNECT project as Safeguarding Focal Point.
Key responsibilities
- Manage and nurture relationships with partners, government bodies (FCDO, DCMS, DfE, DFAT) and sector organisations in Ireland, the UK and EU.
- Represent the British Council as a cultural relations authority, providing briefings on emerging arts and education themes.
- Develop and deliver project management plans for the arts/education portfolio, ensuring alignment with global strategy.
- Identify project risks, devise mitigation strategies and ensure compliance with governance, procurement and safeguarding requirements.
- Collaborate with regional and in‑country colleagues to influence decision‑making and build a self‑supporting ecosystem across regions.
Required profile
- Proven experience in managing arts and education projects or programmes.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills with government and cultural institutions.
- Knowledge of UK‑Ireland cultural policy and the British Council’s strategic objectives.
- Ability to work collaboratively across international teams and deliver high‑quality outcomes.
- Awareness of safeguarding practices, particularly for the PEACEPLUS CONNECT project.
