Design Coordinator

About the role

BAM is seeking a Design and BCAR Coordinator to join its Design & Build team on a high‑profile project in Carlow. You will act as the central point of contact between the design team, technical assessors, and the client, ensuring that all design documentation complies with Irish building regulations and project contracts.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and issue MTS (RDD) documents to the Department of Education client.
• Oversee the Design Team’s submission of design packages and checklists via Autodesk ACC CDE.
• Manage site benchmark mock‑ups, record attendance, photos and upload reports to the CDE.
• Verify subcontractor documentation such as DOPs and CE markings.
• Contribute to bi‑weekly contractor progress reports, tracking DS, MTS, RFIs, etc.
• Coordinate design development from concept through construction, chairing design meetings.
• Lead façade system design (curtain wall, cladding, glazing, brickwork) and resolve multidisciplinary clashes.
• Track design submittals, RFIs and approvals to align with the project programme.

Required profile

• Strong people‑management and interpersonal abilities.
• High proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and AutoCAD.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in highly regulated environments and adhere to Irish Building Regulations, BCAR and façade standards.
