Financial Accountant – Retail Sector

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Financial Accountant to join a growing accountancy practice serving national retail brands. The role offers a hybrid working arrangement and the chance to lead a team of accountants and trainees while delivering full financial control services to retail clients.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review management accounts, focusing on gross‑margin variances and driving cost‑reduction initiatives.
• Evaluate and implement internal controls to ensure financial accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Oversee working‑capital management to optimise cash flow and financial planning.
• Provide comprehensive financial control services to a portfolio of supermarkets and convenience stores.
• Lead, mentor and develop a team of accountants and trainees, fostering a high‑performance culture.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (CPA, ACCA, CIMA, ACA).
• Minimum 3 years of experience, preferably in an accounting practice.
• Strong financial analysis, problem‑solving and client communication abilities.
• Proficiency in accounts preparation, financial reporting and relevant IT systems.
• Demonstrated ability to train, manage and develop staff.
• Retail sector experience is a plus but not essential.

• Competitive salary range €55,000 – €65,000 per year, negotiable based on experience.
