About the role
We are looking for a customer‑focused, tech‑savvy IT Service & Support Technician to join Lidl’s IT Service Team on a 15‑month fixed‑term contract. You will diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve a wide range of hardware, software and network issues, providing clear guidance to internal customers across stores, warehouses and offices.
Key responsibilities
- Guide customers through technical challenges via phone, email or chat.
- Prioritise, manage and respond to service‑desk tickets promptly.
- Diagnose and resolve issues on Windows, Linux and macOS desktops and laptops.
- Provide mobile support for iPhone and iPad devices.
- Support Google Workspace and perform remote‑desktop assistance.
- Assist with network and infrastructure problems.
- Consult external service providers to meet business requirements.
- Create and maintain procedural documentation and incident records.
- Liaise with other IT teams to identify root causes of recurring issues.
- Follow established service‑desk processes and escalation procedures.
Required profile
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a client‑facing IT support role.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
- Hands‑on experience with Windows, Linux and macOS environments.
- Strong understanding of computer systems, mobile devices and networking basics.
- Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills in English.
- Proactive attitude, flexibility and a strong work ethic.
- Willingness to learn new technologies; additional certifications (e.g., Linux, Cisco) are a plus.
