Lead SRE Network Engineer

About the role

Mastercard is looking for a Lead Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) Network Engineer to join its Payments Network SRE team in Ireland. The role focuses on ensuring the health, performance, and scalability of the network infrastructure that supports critical Mastercard applications.

Key responsibilities

• Lead continuous assessments of network infrastructure, analysing health, performance and capacity.
• Collaborate with product and development teams to forecast growth and ensure scalability.
• Conduct regular incident reviews, identify root causes and develop remediation strategies.
• Champion observability by identifying gaps in monitoring and alerting and designing unified telemetry views.
• Drive automation and AI‑based solutions to improve reliability and efficiency.

Required profile

• Proven experience in network engineering within a large‑scale, high‑availability environment.
• Strong analytical skills for capacity forecasting and performance trend analysis.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with product, development and support teams.
• Excellent communication skills for presenting strategic insights to stakeholders.
