Maintenance Technician – Hotel Operations

About the role

The Byrne Hotel Group is looking for a motivated Maintenance Technician to support the Eyre Square and Victoria hotels in Galway. You will be responsible for keeping all building systems running smoothly, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for guests and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to daily maintenance requests from guests and internal departments.
• Carry out routine inspections and preventive maintenance in bedrooms, public areas, kitchens and plant rooms.
• Diagnose and repair issues across electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry and general building systems.
• Ensure compliance with health & safety, fire safety regulations and company policies.
• Assist with larger refurbishment projects and urgent repairs to minimise downtime.

Required profile

• Proven experience in maintenance, building services or a related trade (hotel experience desirable but not essential).
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks and adapt to a busy environment.
• Strong problem‑solving attitude with attention to detail.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
