Production Operator – GMP Manufacturing

About the role

We are seeking a Production Operator to join our manufacturing operations team in Carlow, Ireland, working within a GMP‑regulated environment. The role supports daily production activities to ensure safe, compliant and efficient manufacturing while maintaining high‑quality standards and reliable product supply.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and monitor production equipment and automated systems (MES, DCS, PLC) in a GMP manufacturing setting.
• Set up equipment, handle materials, manage inventory and maintain cleanroom housekeeping.
• Complete GMP documentation accurately, adhering to SOPs, quality, safety and regulatory requirements.
• Assist with equipment troubleshooting, maintenance, deviations, investigations, root‑cause analysis and change controls.
• Contribute to Lean Manufacturing, continuous‑improvement initiatives and cross‑functional team objectives.

Required profile

• Leaving Certificate or equivalent qualification; apprenticeship, certificate, diploma or related qualification is advantageous.
• Previous experience in manufacturing, pharmaceutical, medical device, food or other regulated environments is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, communication, teamwork and problem‑solving abilities.
• Commitment to safety, compliance and ethical professional conduct.

Required skills

• Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
• Knowledge of Distributed Control Systems (DCS).
• Proficiency in Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) operation.
