Protein Buyer – FMCG Manufacturing

About the role

The Protein Buyer will lead procurement for multiple meat categories within a fast‑moving consumer goods (FMCG) manufacturing environment. You will negotiate strategically with suppliers, optimise cost and quality, and ensure a reliable supply of key ingredients.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end purchasing for meat and protein products.
• Negotiate contracts and pricing with suppliers to achieve cost targets.
• Analyse market trends and provide intelligence to internal stakeholders.
• Maintain and develop supplier relationships to secure supply continuity.
• Collaborate with R&D, Sales, Production and Customer Service on cross‑functional projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (Level 8 NFQ) in Supply Chain, Purchasing, Business or Food Production (may be waived with strong experience).
• Proven experience in food‑industry buying or sales, with deep knowledge of meat markets, pricing and specifications.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel for data analysis.
• Experience using ERP systems.
