Senior Civil Site Manager – Large‑Scale Residential Development

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Site Manager to lead the civil and infrastructure works on a flagship residential development in Dublin. The role will oversee earthworks, drainage, utilities, roads, footpaths, cycleways, landscaping and public realm works, ensuring delivery to programme, quality, safety and commercial targets.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and manage all civil works packages, including earthworks, drainage, utilities, roads, footpaths, cycleways, landscaping and public realm.
• Take ownership of programme delivery, quality, health & safety, environmental compliance and commercial performance.
• Manage subcontractors, suppliers and direct labour, monitoring progress and mitigating risks.
• Coordinate utility installations and service connections with statutory providers and local authorities.
• Conduct regular site inspections, quality reviews and ensure compliance with specifications and regulations.
• Lead and mentor site engineers and package managers, fostering a strong safety culture.
• Maintain accurate site records, progress reporting and construction documentation.
• Support the Senior Project Manager with planning, issue resolution and overall site delivery.

Required profile

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of construction experience, with at least 6 years managing large‑scale civil works packages.
• Strong knowledge of Irish construction practices, utility provider requirements and local authority regulations.
• Proven track record delivering roads, drainage, utilities, earthworks and infrastructure on large developments.
• Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with construction management software.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD (advantageous).
• Familiarity with Asta Powerproject (advantageous).
