Software Engineer – Application Development (On-site, Co. Mayo)

About the role

We are looking for a Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain bespoke applications for our on‑site operations in County Mayo. The role involves working across the full stack, from back‑end services to client‑end interfaces, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Manage software‑centric projects, ensuring thorough verification and validation.
• Translate user requirements into functional, reusable applications.
• Design, build, test, and maintain efficient code using C# and .NET technologies.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and bugs.
• Maintain source control with Git and integrate applications with external vendor systems, databases, and industrial devices.
• Apply DevOps practices on Azure to streamline development and deployment.
• Continuously improve processes using operational excellence tools.

Required profile

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant programming experience.
• Ability to work independently and proactively.
• Methodical, well‑structured approach with good judgment.
• Strategic thinking and strong decision‑making skills.

Required skills

• C# and .NET (including .NET Core and WPF).
• SQL and Microsoft SQL Server (2014‑2019).
• VB6, JavaScript, TypeScript.
• Web frameworks: Vue, AngularJS, Bootstrap, jQuery.
• Git version control.
• Azure cloud platform and DevOps practices.
• Knowledge of Factory Talk Batch, PLCs, SCADA/HMI is a plus.
• Familiarity with LINQ, XML, JSON.
