Assistant Pre-Construction Manager – Solar PV Projects

About the role
The Assistant Pre-Construction Manager supports the planning, coordination and mobilisation of utility‑scale solar PV projects during the tendering and pre‑construction phases. You will ensure tender documents are accurate, supplier information is well‑managed and projects are ready for a smooth handover to construction teams.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in preparing tender submissions and developing Bills of Quantities (BOQs) aligned with Work Breakdown Structures (WBS).
- Coordinate inputs from engineering, procurement and commercial teams and manage tender documentation for completeness.
- Issue and manage Requests for Quotation (RFQs), analyse supplier returns and support procurement strategies for civil, electrical and mechanical packages.
- Track and coordinate design deliverables, maintain drawing registers and liaise with external consultants and internal engineers.
- Prepare cost estimates, monitor budget versus quoted costs and support commercial reviews and value‑engineering exercises.
- Develop handover packs, initial project programmes and ensure clear information transfer to delivery teams.
- Maintain structured documentation systems and support implementation of procurement and cost‑control tools such as SAP.
Required profile
- Degree, diploma or equivalent in Construction Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Project Management or a related discipline.
- Relevant industry certifications or training in construction, procurement or project coordination are advantageous.
- 2‑5 years of experience in construction, engineering or infrastructure projects, preferably with exposure to pre‑construction activities.
Required skills
- SAP (or similar ERP) for cost control and procurement alignment.
- Preparation of Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and Work Breakdown Structures (WBS).
- Management of Requests for Quotation (RFQs) and supplier data analysis.
