Associate Director – HSEQ (Health, Safety, Environment & Quality)

About the role

The Associate Director – HSEQ will shape and drive the health, safety, environment and quality strategy for a leading Irish organisation operating across construction, infrastructure and manufacturing. Reporting to senior leadership, this role ensures full regulatory compliance and embeds a proactive safety and quality culture.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of the organisation’s HSEQ strategy, ensuring compliance with Irish, Northern Irish and EU legislation.
• Act as a trusted advisor to senior executives, promoting a strong safety, quality and environmental culture.
• Oversee HSEQ governance, reporting and integration into project delivery, tendering processes and supply‑chain management.
• Monitor and align HSEQ practices with Group standards and industry best practice.
• Drive cultural and organisational change to protect people, assets, the environment and the company’s reputation.

Required profile

• Level 8 degree (or equivalent) with relevant professional membership.
• Significant senior HSEQ leadership experience in construction, infrastructure, manufacturing or a similar sector.
• Strong knowledge of Irish health & safety and environmental legislation and experience with ISO standards.
• Proven ability to influence stakeholders and lead cultural transformation.
• Desirable: postgraduate qualification, SEVESO or multi‑site experience, exposure to sustainability/ESG initiatives.
