Clerk of Works – Construction Assurance

About the role

Jacobs is seeking a Clerk of Works to provide on‑site construction assurance for a large‑scale road and infrastructure scheme in Ireland. You will act as the key quality and safety interface between the site teams, project leadership and external stakeholders, ensuring that all works meet contractual, regulatory and design requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Support the NEC4 Project Supervisor in overseeing all construction assurance activities on site.
• Inspect and monitor workmanship, quality and safety across civil works, including earthworks, drainage, bridges and structures.
• Verify compliance with Works Requirements, specifications, Irish Building Regulations and health & safety standards.
• Assist in establishing and leading the Engineering Assurance sub‑function.
• Contribute to financial, resource and programme planning for the scheme.
• Coordinate day‑to‑day activities of the Clerk of Works team and act as the primary contact for site, project core teams and stakeholders.
• Promote knowledge transfer, collaboration and continuous improvement across consultant and client teams.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in construction management or supervision on large‑scale road or infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of civil and structural works with the ability to interpret drawings and specifications.
• Experience working within Irish Building Regulations, planning processes and health & safety requirements.
• Proactive, solutions‑focused attitude with excellent attention to detail.
