Commercial Manager – Civil Engineering Projects

About the role

John Paul Construction is seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to lead civil and infrastructure projects in Dublin. You will be responsible for managing valuations, cash flow, contracts and supporting the project delivery team.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, interim and final valuations, payment applications and cost reconciliations for contracts, sub‑contractors, specialists and suppliers.
• Provide information for accurate cash‑flow and contract position reviews.
• Work with the Procurement Manager to place sub‑contracts where required.
• Examine contract documents in detail and highlight any anomalies.
• Arrange and agree interim and final valuation dates with client representatives.
• Produce take‑offs for Estimating, Procurement and Planning departments.
• Prepare contract final accounts for each completed section, including adjustments, and agree with client representatives.
• Record all details of contractual delays.
• Manage and coach contract surveyors, assistant surveyors and junior surveyors.

Required profile

• 10+ years’ experience, preferably with a main contractor.
• Project experience in construction, civil engineering or infrastructure.
• Chartered or working towards chartership with the Society of Chartered Surveyors (SCS).
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong IT proficiency.
