Critical Incident Responder – Freelance Counsellor (Remote)

About the role

Health Hero is seeking experienced, CISM‑trained counsellors to join its Critical Incident Response team as freelance affiliates. You will provide on‑site or remote critical incident support to corporate clients across Ireland, balancing this work with your existing practice.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver face‑to‑face or virtual counselling following critical incidents for client organisations.
• Manage your own caseload and maintain accurate electronic clinical records.
• Participate in regular debriefs and peer support sessions with the wider clinician network.
• Travel to client sites when onsite support is required, with travel expenses reimbursed.

Required profile

• Registered counsellor with IACP, APCP, IAHIP, NAPCP, ICP, PSI or equivalent.
• Completed Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) training.
• Recognised counselling diploma (minimum Level 4) and at least 450 supervised client hours post‑qualification.
• Proven experience in contracted counselling and independent caseload management.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office systems.
• Experience using electronic clinical record platforms.
