Lead Piping Designer – Dublin

About the role

PM Group is seeking a Lead Piping Designer to join its Dublin Piping Department. The role will involve leading design activities on small projects and acting as senior designer on larger, multi‑disciplinary assignments, supporting the delivery of world‑class industrial facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design efforts on small projects and serve as senior designer on large, complex projects.
• Produce 3D piping models, technical descriptions, detailed drawings, isometric sketches and electronic models in line with project codes and specifications.
• Perform clash checking to identify and resolve pipe conflicts.
• Collaborate with multi‑disciplinary teams, clients and external partners to ensure coordinated project delivery.

Required profile

• 15+ years of industrial piping design experience, preferably in chemical, bio‑pharma or similar sectors.
• Demonstrated leadership in piping design teams.
• Experience on international projects is highly desirable.
• Certificate (Level 6) or Diploma/Ordinary Degree (Level 7) in Engineering or a related science discipline.

Required skills

• 3D modelling using Cadworx, PDS, PDMS, SmartPlant3D or Plant3D.
• Clash checking for pipe systems.
• Proficiency with MS Word and MS Excel.
