Senior Software Engineer – Financial Services (Java/SpringBoot)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the innovation team of a leading financial services company in Galway. You will be responsible for building a brand‑new platform from the ground up, leveraging modern Java technologies and cloud services.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop a scalable micro‑services architecture using Java and SpringBoot.
• Create and maintain RESTful APIs that integrate with internal and external systems.
• Collaborate with front‑end developers to deliver Angular‑based user interfaces.
• Implement data persistence solutions with Oracle databases.
• Utilise cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure for deployment and infrastructure management.
• Integrate streaming data pipelines using Kafka.
• Participate in code reviews, testing and continuous integration processes.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a senior developer working on Java/SpringBoot projects.
• Hands‑on experience with micro‑services, REST APIs and cloud environments (AWS or Azure).
• Familiarity with Oracle databases and Kafka messaging.
• Strong interest in financial services domain.
