Staff Nurse – General Emergency Department

About the role

The Health Service Executive (HSE) is seeking a qualified Staff Nurse to join the General Emergency Department at Connolly Hospital in Dublin. This full‑time permanent role offers the opportunity to work in a busy acute care environment, delivering high‑quality nursing care to a diverse patient population.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients presenting to the General Emergency Department.
• Demonstrate depth and breadth of clinical knowledge and recent experience in emergency nursing.
• Apply recent acute‑hospital nursing experience to assess, treat, and monitor patients.
• Collaborate with physicians, allied health professionals, and support staff to ensure coordinated care.
• Maintain accurate patient records and adhere to HSE clinical governance standards.
• Promote patient safety, infection control, and quality improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Recent experience as a Staff Nurse in an Emergency Department.
• Recent nursing experience in an acute hospital setting.
• Registered General Nurse qualification recognised in Ireland.
• Eligibility to work for both HSE and non‑HSE applicants.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, multidisciplinary environment.
