Staff Nurse – In‑Patient Oncology & Haematology (Fixed‑Term)

About the role

The successful Staff Nurse will join the In‑Patient Oncology and Haematology unit, delivering high‑quality, compassionate care to patients undergoing cancer treatment. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will help create a supportive environment that promotes patient wellbeing and clinical excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care for oncology and haematology patients in accordance with hospital policies and professional standards.
• Monitor patients’ clinical status, administer medications, and coordinate treatments such as chemotherapy and transfusions.
• Collaborate with physicians, allied health professionals and families to ensure seamless care pathways.
• Maintain accurate patient records and contribute to audit and quality‑improvement initiatives.
• Provide education and emotional support to patients and their carers.

Required profile

• Registered General Nurse (RGN) with current registration on the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland.
• Experience in an acute oncology or haematology setting is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment.
• Commitment to upholding the highest ethical and professional standards.
