Buyer – Procurement Specialist

About the role

Murphy is seeking an experienced Buyer to join its Procurement team in Newbridge. The role supports the regional operating unit by developing and managing the supply chain for material and sub‑contract procurement across infrastructure projects.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute procurement strategies for work‑winning and construction phases.
• Conduct due‑diligence on suppliers and manage supplier evaluation and risk assessments.
• Support the creation and maintenance of procurement schedules and work‑package documentation.
• Generate purchase orders, monitor expediting activities, and ensure timely delivery.
• Structure and manage the regional supply chain, driving performance and cost improvements.
• Negotiate contracts and ensure arrangements protect Murphy’s interests.
• Provide market insights on pricing trends, risks, and opportunities.

Required profile

• Proven experience in material and sub‑contract procurement within the construction or infrastructure sector.
• Ability to deliver best overall value rather than focusing solely on lowest price.
• Strong understanding of supply‑chain performance monitoring and relationship management.
• Experience supporting bid teams and project leaders during pre‑construction and construction stages.
