Civils Foreman / Site Manager – Portlaoise

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Civils Foreman / Site Manager to lead groundworks and early‑stage site operations on a major public‑sector development in Portlaoise. The role will evolve into broader site management responsibilities as the project progresses.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate all groundworks and enabling works packages.
• Oversee site set‑up, logistics and day‑to‑day operations.
• Supervise subcontractors, direct labour and site activities.
• Ensure delivery aligns with programme requirements and quality specifications.
• Maintain strict health & safety standards across the site.
• Conduct site inductions, toolbox talks and safety briefings.
• Liaise with engineers, project managers and design teams.
• Assist in sequencing and planning of works and support transition to main build stages.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Groundworks Foreman or Site Manager.
• Strong background in civil engineering, enabling works or early‑stage construction.
• Experience working with main contractors on commercial or public‑sector projects.
• Leadership and site coordination abilities.
• Solid understanding of construction sequencing and site logistics.
• Excellent knowledge of health & safety procedures and compliance.
• Ability to read construction drawings and work with setting‑out teams.
