Engineering & Sustainability Director for MetroLink Project

About the role

MetroLink is seeking an experienced Engineering & Sustainability Director to lead the engineering function of Ireland's largest transport infrastructure programme. You will be accountable for the design and engineering brief, ensuring the programme meets its technical, safety and sustainability standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Engineering function, working closely with the Programme Director and other senior leaders.
• Develop and assure the design and engineering brief for the entire MetroLink programme.
• Oversee production of reference, tender and contractor designs, supporting partner organisations throughout the project lifecycle.
• Provide engineering and design support during the procurement process.
• Establish and deliver the Technical Authority for the programme.
• Build a best‑in‑class systems engineering team to deliver integrated solutions.
• Develop and embed standard operating procedures across engineering and sustainability.
• Act as brand ambassador, managing the programme’s reputation on behalf of TII and the Programme Director.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an Engineering Director or equivalent, overseeing complex capital investments of around €5 billion.
• Demonstrated ability to lead design through all stages to operation for large‑scale infrastructure systems.
• Extensive background in safety‑critical, high‑value engineering projects.
