Environmental and Sustainability Advisor

About the role

The Environmental and Sustainability Advisor will support the Environmental and Sustainability Manager and the ESG team in driving sustainability initiatives across the business. Based at the head office, the role involves regular visits to construction sites to ensure compliance and progress toward the company’s ESG goals.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise to site HSE teams, ESG Champions and other units on environmental management and ESG matters.
• Assist site teams in establishing Environmental Management Systems and ESG plans during pre‑construction and tender phases.
• Conduct site visits to verify ESG performance, review documentation, and support HSE audits.
• Develop and maintain ESG plans, conduct investigations of unplanned environmental events, and support external audits (ISO 14001, carbon verification, CSRD).
• Collect, monitor and report ESG data from all sites, flagging gaps for corrective action.
• Support certification programmes such as LEED, BREEAM, HPI, EU Taxonomy and LCA.
• Create and deliver ESG training, communications, and awareness materials.
• Prepare KPI reports for senior management, ESG committees and board meetings.

Required profile

• Proven experience in environmental management and ESG within the construction sector.
• Familiarity with site‑based sustainability initiatives and audit processes.
• Ability to develop training content and communicate ESG concepts to diverse audiences.

Required skills

• ISO 14001 implementation and audit experience.
• Carbon verification and CSRD assessment knowledge.
• Certification expertise: LEED, BREEAM, HPI, EU Taxonomy, LCA.
• Proficiency with ESG data‑reporting software platforms.
