Environmental Health & Safety Lead

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Health & Safety Lead to join our team in County Kildare, supporting a high‑profile strategic client. Reporting to the Strategic Account Director, you will be responsible for embedding a strong safety culture, ensuring regulatory compliance and leading safety excellence on site.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain comprehensive health, safety and environmental policies and procedures.
• Ensure full compliance with Irish and European regulations as well as client‑specific requirements.
• Monitor and update safety systems in line with legislative changes.
• Conduct regular audits, inspections and safety reviews, analysing incident data to identify trends and drive improvement plans.
• Lead accident and incident investigations, ensuring accurate and timely reporting to internal systems and client portals.
• Deliver training, toolbox talks and awareness programmes, maintaining a site‑based safety training schedule.
• Promote a proactive, positive safety culture across the site.
• Act as the primary point of contact for client safety representatives and collaborate with internal operations, engineering and commercial teams.
• Represent the company in safety meetings and forums.
• Manage and develop a site‑based health & safety team, coaching managers to adopt a proactive safety approach and driving continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Degree (or equivalent) in Health & Safety.
• Full, clean driving licence.
• Full right to work in Ireland.
• Desirable certifications: Safe Pass, PSDP, PSCS, Manual Handling Instructor / Train the Trainer, VDU / Ergonomic Assessor, Auditor certification, IOSH Chartered Member (or working towards).
