Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer

About the role

Kickstart your engineering career as a Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer at Terex in Carrickmacross. You will join the MDS Engineering team and contribute to the design of next‑generation heavy equipment from concept through production.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical solutions for new equipment using SolidWorks.
• Create detailed 3D models, weldments, assemblies and accompanying drawings.
• Generate Bills of Materials and collaborate with suppliers for product data.
• Ensure designs meet safety, functionality and field‑ready criteria.
• Troubleshoot engineering issues on the production floor and in the field.
• Work cross‑functionally with engineering, operations and customer support teams.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical or Product Design Engineering or a related discipline.
• Strong foundation in 3D CAD, preferably SolidWorks, and familiarity with PDM systems.
• Problem‑solving mindset with a curiosity‑driven approach.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative attitude.
• Willingness to travel occasionally.
