About the role
We are seeking a Health & Safety Business Partner to lead safety strategy for a growing rail portfolio in Ireland. This senior leadership position will work closely with senior stakeholders to embed a strong safety culture across rail and infrastructure projects.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and implement the health & safety strategy, governance and assurance for rail and construction activities.
- Ensure compliance with Irish legislation, including the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005 and Construction Regulations 2013.
- Partner with senior leaders to manage risk, define safety frameworks and promote best practice.
- Champion a “Safety First, Always” culture and drive continuous improvement.
- Oversee incident investigations, conduct root‑cause analysis and ensure effective corrective actions.
- Develop and deliver health & safety policies, training programmes and competence frameworks.
- Provide expert advice and act as the escalation point for complex health & safety matters.
Required profile
- Strong knowledge of Irish health & safety legislation and regulatory requirements.
- Background in construction, infrastructure, rail or other high‑risk environments.
- Experience in a senior H&S advisory or business partner role.
- Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive cultural change.
- Relevant qualification (NEBOSH Level 6 or equivalent) and IOSH membership (or working towards).
- Excellent communication, leadership and problem‑solving skills.
