Health & Safety Graduate – 18‑Month Fixed Term

About the role

Cairn Homes is seeking a motivated Graduate Health & Safety Officer to join its construction management team for an 18‑month fixed‑term, site‑based position. You will support the delivery of a safe, compliant, and productive work environment across our building sites.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Health & Safety Manager in implementing and monitoring the Cairn Homes H&S Management System.
• Identify site‑specific hazards, develop documentation, and ensure practical controls are in place.
• Maintain site folders, statutory records, and enforce strict adherence to site rules by all contractors.
• Support the preparation and delivery of risk assessments, safe systems of work, and toolbox talks.
• Conduct H&S audits, address non‑conformances, and contribute to accident/incident investigations.
• Coordinate contractor compliance and disciplinary procedures as required.

Required profile

• 3rd‑level qualification in Health & Safety (or related field).
• Strong analytical ability and clear written and verbal communication.
• Methodical, detail‑oriented, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Self‑motivated with the capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Willingness to attend training and develop professional knowledge.
