Health & Safety Officer – Construction Project

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Health & Safety Officer to join a leading main contractor on a landmark construction project in County Clare. The role involves supporting site management and project teams to ensure all activities comply with Irish health & safety legislation, company procedures, and industry best practice.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out regular site inspections, audits and safety walks.
• Ensure compliance with Irish health & safety legislation and internal procedures.
• Assist in preparing and reviewing RAMS, risk assessments and other safety documentation.
• Monitor subcontractor compliance across all site activities.
• Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks and safety briefings.
• Maintain accurate health & safety records and reports.
• Investigate incidents and support the implementation of corrective actions.
• Promote a positive safety culture throughout the project team.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a construction health & safety role.
• Relevant health & safety qualification.
• Strong knowledge of Irish construction safety legislation.
• Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
• Experience with a main contractor is desirable.
• Full clean driving licence is desirable.
