Hotel Receptionist

About the role

The Viking Hotel Waterford is seeking a full‑time, on‑site Hotel Receptionist to be the first point of contact for guests. You will welcome visitors, manage check‑in and check‑out processes, and provide clear information about the hotel’s services, facilities and local attractions.

Key responsibilities

• Handle guest arrivals and departures, ensuring smooth and accurate check‑in/check‑out procedures.
• Manage reservations, modifications and cancellations using the hotel’s property management system.
• Process payments, issue invoices and perform basic cashiering tasks.
• Respond promptly to telephone, email and in‑person inquiries, providing courteous and helpful information.
• Maintain up‑to‑date guest records and ensure data accuracy in the hotel system.
• Coordinate with housekeeping, restaurant and management teams to support seamless operations.
• Address guest queries and concerns quickly, upholding the hotel’s standards of hospitality, accessibility and sustainability.

Required profile

• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage warmly with a diverse guest base.
• Professional phone etiquette and clear written communication.
• Flexible availability for shifts, weekends and holidays.
• Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.
• Attention to detail and ability to multitask under pressure.

Required skills

• Proficiency with hospitality software, including reservation and property management systems.
