Junior Procurement Officer

About the role

We are seeking an ambitious, self‑motivated Junior Procurement Officer to join the operations team of a long‑established Irish construction and building services contractor. Reporting to the Procurement Manager, you will support procurement, accounts, ESG initiatives, and fleet and tool management while liaising with internal colleagues and external suppliers.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and issue purchase orders using the company’s procurement software.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure timely responses to enquiries.
• Support the accounts team by processing supplier delivery documentation promptly.
• Issue enquiries for materials, plant hire, tools and vehicles; review quotes and prepare analysis for the Procurement Manager.
• Act as the primary contact for managing the company fleet.
• Administer Hilti OnTrack software for plant and tool management.
• Assist the Procurement Manager with the rollout of ESG initiatives and related software over the next 12–24 months.

Required profile

• 1–2 years of experience in an administrative role.
• Previous procurement experience is highly advantageous.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
• Positive, service‑focused attitude and a proactive, can‑do mindset.
