Operations Manager – Civil Engineering (Water & Wastewater)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead the delivery of water and wastewater projects for a leading civil engineering contractor. Based in Kilkenny, you will coordinate site activities, manage resources and ensure projects meet quality, cost and schedule targets.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee operations across a portfolio of water and wastewater projects.
• Develop and manage project plans, resource allocation and logistics.
• Lead site teams, subcontractors and coordinate with design teams and local authorities.
• Monitor project costs, prepare regular financial and operational reports for senior management.
• Conduct pre‑construction meetings and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships.
• Drive people management activities including recruitment, performance reviews and staff training.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency.

Required profile

• Proven operations or project management experience within civil engineering, preferably in the water sector.
• Familiarity with Irish or UK water industry standards.
• Technical qualifications in civil engineering and construction.
