Senior Design Contracting Specialist – HV Projects

About the role

The Senior Design Contracting Specialist will support the HV Project Management Team within ESB’s Networks Engineering department. Working closely with the framework owner and external delivery partners, the role ensures accurate contractor payments and smooth operation of design frameworks for substations, cables and overhead lines.

Key responsibilities

• Process, track and verify contractor payments for completed works.
• Utilise IT systems to manage day‑to‑day activities and payment workflows.
• Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, fostering open communication.
• Support the HV Project Manager in producing KPI reports, framework oversight and new framework development.
• Coordinate mini‑tenders, assist with audits, and support contractors on standards, training and performance expectations.
• Arrange training and assessments for contractors as required.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, including contractor management and commercial/project management.
• Proven ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple priorities.
• Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
• Self‑starter capable of working independently and supporting team members.
• Full driving licence with access to a car and willingness to travel nationally.
• Either a third‑level qualification or equivalent experience.
