Senior Site Manager (Civils) – High Density Apartments

About the role

The Senior Site Manager (Civils) will lead all civil works for high‑density apartment projects, overseeing soil stabilisation, excavations, shoring, drainage, utilities and landscaping. Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, you will ensure safe, on‑time delivery while managing quality, budget and stakeholder relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Take full responsibility for all site‑works activities, controlling programme, quality, commercial budgets, health, safety and environmental risk.
• Plan, coordinate and organise works, engaging subcontractors and suppliers proactively.
• Supervise and mentor engineers, package managers and site teams, fostering strong supply‑chain relationships.
• Monitor construction progress, report on programme and commercial risks, and assist in dispute resolution.
• Ensure compliance with utility providers and local authority regulations, securing timely service connections.
• Conduct regular site inspections and address issues promptly to maintain momentum.

Required profile

• 10+ years of industry management experience, with at least 6 years hands‑on managing large site‑works packages.
• Qualification in Civil Engineering or Groundworks/Plant and Machinery operation.
• Extensive experience in the Irish or UK construction market with a reputable main contractor or developer.
• Strong understanding of the full construction life‑cycle and ability to read technical drawings and specifications.
• Self‑motivated, hardworking and able to work collaboratively while respecting colleagues and management.
