Senior Site Manager (Civils) – High Density Apartments

About the role

The Senior Site Manager (Civils) will lead all civil works for high‑density apartment developments, overseeing everything from soil stabilisation and foundation excavations to utilities, drainage, and landscaping. Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, you will ensure safe, on‑time, and on‑budget delivery of complex site packages.

Key responsibilities

• Take full responsibility for all site‑works activities, managing programme, quality, commercial budgets, health, safety, and environmental risk.
• Plan, coordinate, and organise works, engaging subcontractors and suppliers proactively.
• Supervise and mentor engineers, package managers, and the supply‑chain team.
• Monitor construction progress, report on programme and commercial risks, and conduct regular site inspections.
• Ensure compliance with utility providers and local authority regulations, coordinating service connections.
• Assist the Senior Project Manager in dispute resolution when required.

Required profile

• 10+ years of industry management experience, including 6+ years hands‑on management of large site‑works packages.
• Qualification in Civil Engineering or Groundworks/Plant and Machinery operation.
• Proven experience in the Irish or UK construction market with a reputable main contractor or developer.
• Strong understanding of the full construction life‑cycle and ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Self‑motivated, hardworking, and able to work collaboratively while respecting colleagues and management.
