Senior Software Engineer – Java, SpringBoot, Microservices (12‑month contract)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join a leading financial services company in Galway. You will be part of an innovation team tasked with building a brand‑new platform from the ground up, using modern cloud‑native technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and deliver a greenfield platform using Java and SpringBoot.
• Create and maintain micro‑services and REST APIs.
• Integrate with Oracle databases and implement data access layers.
• Collaborate with front‑end developers, preferably using Angular.
• Leverage cloud services on AWS or Azure and work with Kafka for event‑driven architecture.
• Participate in code reviews, testing and continuous integration pipelines.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience in Java development.
• Strong background with SpringBoot and micro‑service architectures.
• Hands‑on experience building RESTful APIs.
• Familiarity with Oracle databases.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS or Azure) is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of Kafka and Angular is a plus.
