Facilities Engineer

About the role

The Facilities Engineer will report to the Engineering Facilities Lead and be responsible for the operation and maintenance of all designated facilities systems and equipment within a pharmaceutical/industrial environment. This role requires a minimum of three years of experience in pharma, industrial, or semiconductor processes and a strong focus on regulatory compliance and operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Schedule and supervise temporary contractor personnel in the Facilities Department.
• Develop and maintain operational and maintenance procedures to ensure best practice and regulatory compliance.
• Continuously improve facilities systems for maximum operational and maintenance efficiency.
• Support the Engineering Facilities Lead with operational and investment budgeting.
• Act as subject‑matter expert for GMP and non‑GMP systems.
• Troubleshoot process‑specific equipment as required.
• Generate data and reports for Annual Product Quality Reviews and regulatory submissions.
• Support change control, commissioning, and qualification activities.
• Provide facilities input to all organisational projects.
• Plan shutdown schedules in collaboration with business units.
• Mentor interim engineers and students.

Required profile

• Third‑level qualification in Mechanical, Chemical, or a related Science discipline.
• Minimum three years of experience in pharmaceutical, industrial, or semiconductor process environments.
• Good knowledge of GMP requirements and system validation.
• Project management experience with the ability to lead facilities projects.

Required skills

• GMP and validation knowledge.
• HVAC and cleanroom systems expertise.
• Experience with SAP Maintenance Processing.
• Familiarity with Trackwise.
• Proficiency in CAD.
