Maintenance Assistant – Hotel Operations

About the role

We are looking for a Maintenance Assistant to join the maintenance team at The Cork International Hotel. The role involves daily upkeep of guest rooms, public areas and back‑of‑house facilities to ensure a safe, comfortable and high‑standard environment for our guests.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out daily maintenance tasks and promptly resolve guest‑reported issues.
• Assist with the planned preventive maintenance programme and keep the Rooms Preventative Maintenance list up‑to‑date.
• Support the “Perfect Room” project and ensure all items from the “Opera”/“Niggle” lists are actioned.
• Perform fire walks and inspect fire‑life safety equipment on a daily basis.
• Monitor and control maintenance‑related costs, including energy‑saving initiatives.
• Maintain mechanical areas in a clean, orderly condition and inspect public areas for defects.
• Complete work orders, record actions and report accidents or incidents according to hotel policy.

Required profile

• Essential painting knowledge and practical experience.
• Ability to follow health, safety and fire regulations.
• Willingness to attend training and adhere to the team handbook.
