HR Generalist – 2-Year Fixed-Term Contract

About the role

The HR Generalist will support the delivery and implementation of HR programmes across core functional areas for Abbott’s Diagnostic Division in Ireland. Working closely with the HR Manager, Business Partners and Centres of Excellence, the role provides operational support and first‑line guidance to employees and managers on HR policies and processes.

Key responsibilities

• Support cyclical HR processes such as performance management, merit reviews and headcount tracking.
• Assist with continuous improvement projects and activities across the organisation.
• Respond to employee and manager queries via the shared HR inbox and escalate when necessary.
• Maintain accurate employee data in HR systems and generate required reports.
• Facilitate onboarding, off‑boarding and other employee‑lifecycle activities.
• Act as a point of contact for day‑to‑day HR questions and provide guidance on policies.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an HR Generalist or in a similar HR operational role.
• Strong knowledge of HR policies, processes and employee‑relations best practices.
• Ability to deliver high‑quality service to both employees and managers.
• Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.
